April Poem

This redwood tree fell
in the storm last week

The winds were so strong
but really, the roots are very shallow

Here we imagine
that something sacred is not a weed

But there you can see it growing up again
where I may not want it.

Regardless, It is very cool
here under the canopy

and the creek rising in winter
can wash away many things.

Let’s work together.
